The Office of Early Childhood is partnering with the 2-1-1 Child Care to provide this free digital fingerprinting service for child care provider staff, volunteers, and household members who are required to complete a comprehensive background check at least every five years.

2-1-1 Child Care has conducted fingerprinting services in the following towns; Bridgeport, Bristol, Bloomfield, Cromwell, Colchester, Danbury, Farmington, Greenwich, Meriden, New Haven, New London, Norwich, Norwalk, Putnam, Rocky Hill, South Winsdor, Stamford, Stratford, Storrs Mansfield, Suffield, Torrington, Wallingford, Westport, Waterbury, West Hartford
Individuals who are required to complete a background check through the Office of Early Childhood must submit four things:
- Complete an“Authorization for Release of Information from DCF” form,
- Read the three sections of “FBI Privacy Notices” and sign the form,
- Fingerprints, preferably digital
- Pay the processing fee. OEC is paying this fee for fingerprints submitted digitally or postmarked by April 1, 2021 or until the allocated funds are exhausted, whichever happens first.
You can fulfill the first two requirements right here by completing these online versions of the DCF form and FBI Privacy Notices document. When you are done, you can schedule an appointment to get fingerprinted digitally at no cost.
