Parent Resources

211 Child Care is a free, confidential, and statewide service which helps match the requests of parents with child care providers and programs. Parents call 211 Child Care for information and referrals to:

  • Licensed child care centers
  • Family child care
  • Before and after school programs
  • Summer camps
  • Nursery schools
  • Nanny agencies
  • Head Start
  • School Readiness programs
  • Play groups
  • Licensed Exempt/ Public Pre-K

Child Care Referrals Specialists help parents learn about options in their community and understand what to look for in finding a quality child care arrangement, including a provider’s Elevate Level in CT’s Quality Improvement System. They encourage parents to contact the Office of Early Childhood Division of Licensing to check on the complaint history of licensed child care programs.

In addition, Child Care Referral Specialists can also help parents become connected to other resources such as Connecticut’s child care subsidy program, Care 4 Kids or Birth to Three, for families who may have concerns about their children’s development.

Do you have any other health/human service needs? 2-1-1 connects callers, at no cost, to critical health and human services in their community
